There are many outlets working on the national level to uncover big stories of corruption. But rarely do we see such vigor in exposing smaller-scale stories in local government. Small abuses allow for larger abuses to metastasize. This can look like many things:
Inappropriate conduct or demands in public schools placed upon students and parents. Secretive agendas, assignments, and curious requests of students
Police departments denying or delaying firearm applications. Threats of retaliation or consequences for demanding answers, or, simply ignoring constituents
Suppression of speech on property. Suppression of speech in personal time due to a position. Suppression of speech in public school assignments
Expectations and pressures to conform and "play along" with bad behavior in the public sphere
Blue Star Union is an open community where vigorous discussion and speech is welcome. The answer to bad speech, is always more speech. If you see abuses of civil rights in your local government, in any capacity, please contact us on the link below and write "WHISTLE" in the subject line.
Anonymity is guaranteed for those that wish to maintain it. Those that prefer to speak on the phone can call or text us at 833-833-1776.
Many people throw up their hands and say "There's nothing I can do about this. There will always be corruption." Tell your story with the world, and we will follow-up with the entity in question for comment and then work to publish the story.
Mission Statement: To educate the public about how to exercise their civil rights, engage with public officials, and build strong communities through media campaigns, publicly-accessible programming, and community events.
